A little reminder & request for help.
WAPNA is run by volunteers as a Not for Profit Support Group. Many
hours are spent organising events, mailouts, emails, etc after hours
We ask that you could please be patient if we are unable to get back to
you within a short time due to other commitments, such as work and
We welcome anyone who can contribute some time
to assist with afternoon teas at Seminars and suppers at monthly
Other areas of help, if you have some time
available, would be for general mailouts, inserting flyers in Seminar
and information in envelopes to new members.
We would also greatly appreciate your
consideration in becoming a committee member. The business meetings are
only 4 times a year.
Please do think seriously about this as we need you.

VOLUNTEER PRACTICE NURSES ASSOCIATION LIKE OURS!
The Association provides a focus for practice
nurses and for other groups seeking to make contact and have dialogue
with practice nurses. It facilitates professional communication between
practice nurses to break down professional isolation and assists
members with continuing professional development. The Association
develops the role of the practice nurse, liaises with other
professional groups, provides opportunities for social contact with
professional colleagues and, as required, provides expert opinion on
practice nursing. If you wish to apply for membership, please download

Officer. Please note that EFT facilities are available for
the payment of membership fees.
The educational and support functions of the Association are
accomplished by providing fora for the open discussion of nursing-based
ethical, professional and practice issues and concerns, and
opportunities to share practical knowledge and experiences. The
Association presents educational fora relevant to practice in medical
practices and clinics and promotes the role of the practice nurse and
the value of such nurses, whenever possible, through professional
meetings and collaboration with other groups of health professionals.
It serves as a resource and support for individual nurses and the
profession on matters related to community health care and promotes
state and national networking between practice nurses.
Membership of the Association is open to all nurses registered with The
Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA), who are
employed in doctors' surgeries (whether general practitioners,
specialists, pathology practices or private outpatients clinics), or
nurses and other persons with an interest in this area of nursing,
including students of nursing, who may be invited to become members.
Affiliate membership is now open to an individual, corporation or
incorporated body interested in the work of the association. Affiliate
members will not have voting rights.
